Small Towns Without Movie Theaters Show Movies Outdoors

Outdoor movie events bring the movie theater experience outside to create a fun and unique cinema experience. Modern equipment allow outdoor movie viewers to enjoy the same high quality experience enjoyed by traditional movie house patrons. For towns without movie theaters, outdoor movies are a great alternative.

Currently, there are small towns all over the country without cinema complexes. By 2013, more small movie-picture theaters could be closing their doors when the movie industry switches to all-digital technology. Films will no longer be released in traditional 35 millimeter film prints, and theaters without the technology to show digital films will be forced to shut down. The cost of converting to digital in a movie house is around $65,000, leaving this conversion out of reach for many small, older movie theaters.

There are already many towns without a motion picture theater, and this change will lead to more. Residents of towns like this are left with the options of missing out on these movies or traveling to a town with a movie theater. Portable inflatable cinema technology gives these communities another option: outdoor cinema.

Inflatable movie screens are available in a variety of sizes to fit into many different locations, and accommodate small or large crowds. High quality theatrical screens and HD projectors, along with clear sound, bring the movie theater experience to any location. An outdoor movie can be held almost anywhere; holding it at a historic site or downtown can enhance the experience and make it more special for the community.

Going out to see a new movie with friends or family is a completely different experience than watching it at home. Small towns without theaters and those that stand to lose a theater with the digital conversion will be missing out. Outdoor cinema technology can provide a replacement that sometimes proves to be even better than a traditional movie theater.

Movies under the stars provide entertainment and can bring a community together. Event organizers can take their pick of locations, maybe a popular community park, or another location that is special to the community. An outdoor cinema also allows community members to come together and watch a movie all at the same time, rather than being limited by the size of a movie theater. Outdoor movies are being shown in communities all over, to provide a unique cinema experience. For towns without traditional movie theaters, outdoor cinema is even more special. In these towns, outdoor movies replace the movie theater experience by providing another cinema option. Providing articles, reviews and writings on movies online.

Relaxing With a Classic On Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving table is filled with excitement each year. Good food, family, and friends all take center stage during the celebration. After dinner is over, many choose to turn their attention to the numerous college and professional football games that flood the television, choosing a side and sticking with the cheering section assigned to their favorite team. This year, if football is not on the agenda for the gathering, watching a few warm Thanksgiving movies instead will help the family maintain a relaxed holiday atmosphere. Plenty of holiday movies address the Thanksgiving theme in various ways. Whether the preferred movie genre is animation, comedy, or action, one of the following movie selections is sure to please the family at this year's gathering.

"Pocahontas" is an Oscar-winning animated favorite that was released in 1995 by Disney. The movie explores the love affair that sparks between a Native American chief's daughter, Pocahontas (Irene Bedhard), and an English soldier, Captain John Smith (Mel Gibson). The two are on the opposite side of an invasion by the English settlers. In the 1600s, the English land in Virginia, the homeland of Pocahontas. She stumbles upon their camp and a romance begins with Smith. The fairy tale love is disrupted by the greed of Governor Ratcliff; it is believed that Pocahontas's tribe is literally sitting on a gold mine.

As friction builds between the two groups, it is up to the two lovers to try and keep the peace. This animated film is engaging for older adults and filled with action to keep the attention of any teens who may be watching. This is a movie that captures the Native American-settler encounter in a way that is not too violent for young eyes, but accurate enough for the adults to refresh their American history. The soft song selections are enough to lull even the tiniest baby to sleep so that the rest of the crowd can enjoy the movie without interruption.

Every Thanksgiving, there is a channel that features the comedy "Dutch." A single mother (JoBeth Williams) tries to give a little love to her son, Doyle Standish (Ethan Embry), at Thanksgiving after her selfish ex-husband (Christopher McDonald) leaves her holding the bag again by cancelling his holiday time with his son. Her knight in shining armor, her new boyfriend Dutch (Ed O'Neill), volunteers to go to the boarding school her son attends and retrieve him for the holidays. They do not make it out of the dormitory before the bubble bursts. The two end up at each other's throats all along the road trip.

This film is a precursor to the "Are We There Yet?" series produced by Ice Cube; the good guy gets stuck on a bad road trip with his new love's kids. When the news of the new guy reaches her ex-husband, he mysteriously finds time in his busy schedule to try and further destroy her reputation with her son. This film is a roller coaster ride filled with some very funny interactions, but may be suited for a more mature audience. The film is rated PG-13, but if there is someone in the crowd who does not understand about the birds and the bees, he or she may be better off in the football room.

An all-time classic Thanksgiving movie must be included on this list of Thanksgiving favorites. "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" was released in 1973, but is still relevant to the families of today. Any adaptation of the comic strip series always brings laughter and cheer to viewers. This animated gem is the story of the Peanuts gang's celebration of Thanksgiving. Peppermint Patty (Christopher DeFaria) plans a dinner for her family and friends. As is the tradition of the series, Charlie Brown (Todd Barbee) always gets the short end of the stick, but remains as good as gold throughout the story. There is even a scene with a football, just in case viewers think they are missing out on something in the other room. One of the best scenes in the movie is the Thanksgiving prayer given by Linus. In his prayer, Linus relays the importance of the holiday by giving a bit of history surrounding the celebration.

The holiday season can be very stressful with the anticipation of guests, family interactions, and all of the preparation that goes into the festivities. To set the tone for the celebration, try a cool music selection, good food, and a good movie. Providing useful articles, reviews and writings on movies and films online.

The Rise To Fame of Classic Zombie Movies

When it comes to classic zombie movies, everyone has their own favorites, and most can still remember the first time they sat in front of the television, watching a black and white portrayal of the undead slowly, but determinedly, chasing down their bumbling prey. Classic zombie movies are still a favorite amongst diehard fans, because they lend an element of gritty morbidity that pop culture based movies seem to lack these days; while this shouldn't take away from the latest releases within this genre, it definitely adds to the authority of the films that preceded them.

The reason why classic zombie movies seem to come with the tag line this is what actual zombies are supposed to look like, is because the archetype for these creatures stemmed from the Voodoo religion, which is, in essence, Haitian. When William S. Seabrook returned from his voyage to Haiti and published his travelogue, The magic island, westerners found themselves enthralled with the concept of a creature that rises from the grave due to the powers of a sorcerer called a Brokor. This fascination led to some of the best classic films on the subject, and all within a matter of a few decades.

Bela Lugosi's 'White Zombie' is perhaps one of the most famous classic films on this subject. It follows the story of a prosperous businessman by the name of Murder Legendre, based in Haiti, who has the power to transform men into zombies. When a man falls in love with a woman who is to marry someone else, he approaches the voodoo master for assistance, who then turns his beloved into a zombie. The movie itself is said to closely follow the writings of Seabrook, even going as far as mentioning the potion that was supposed to turn corpses into the undead slaves of the voodoo priest.

George Romero's 'The Night of the Living Dead' was another classic which altered the face of this genre, and remakes of this film continue to be released up until today. The film was released in 1968 and its reception was marked by shock and outrage, although when this subsided, it quickly became one of the penultimate favorite films on the subject. One of the reasons for its initial negative reception was the fact that it was gory, contained nudity, and the protagonist of the film was ultimately killed in the end. Basically, this film was unlike any other that had been released in the past, and it remains one of the most popular films based on the undead to date.

'The Night of the Living Dead' did not only alter the horror genre; it also added to the lore and myth surrounding these supernatural creatures. In the past, zombies were the creation of dark voodoo priests, but in this feature, they could transfer their supernatural abilities to others through a bite. The film also references methods on how to kill these creatures - shoot them through the head- which has become the first method of defense against the undead in countless films and games to date.

While classic zombie movies might have changed slightly during the first few decades when they began making their debuts on big screens all over the world, one thing remains certain; they inspired a fascination with these creatures that continues to thrive today. Is Premium Rush Worth a Premium Ticket Price At The Theatres?

Okay so, I'm not much into chick flicks, and I like to see a high body count, therefore I usually go for action dramas. It's not that I am afraid to see any of those other movies it's just that sometimes I feel underwhelmed, and to me they are a big ass-flatener if they don't have constant action. Well, everyone has preferences, and Hollywood knows it. Nevertheless, there is a very good movie called; Premium Rush, which I'd like to recommend that you go see.

Now then, perhaps not everyone will like this movie, but if you were a rebel as a teenager, athletically inclined, or if you get tired of the traffic in the city destroying your productivity and wasting your time, this movie might hit the spot. One of the theme songs in the movie was "Teenage Wasteland" by The Who which also concluded the ending of the movie, a happy ending, which was very apropos.

Weaved into the storyline were challenges of people trying to get their children out of China and into the US, as well as the ongoing controversy in New York City of bicycle messengers disobeying the rules of traffic, causing accidents, or crashing into pedestrians. Another underlining theme was how entrepreneurs get things done in New York City and how the labor is often taken advantage of. The movie had a good humor, many intellectual side thoughts, great acting, and good action - which was what I liked the best.

There were crooked cops, do-gooder cops, and a little bit of insight into the impersonal way in which large city metro police departments do their business and bidding. There was also the Chinese Mafia, the Russian Mafia, illegal gambling, and all sorts of other things involved. It showed how these new personal GPS tech devices help with routing software, and how bicyclists now had a hands-free cell phone communication while they ride, just like those commuting by car.

There was quite a bit of interesting urban conflict between cyclists, cabdrivers, and mean-spirited drivers who probably didn't like anyone. Would I recommend that you see this movie? Yes I would, and then discuss all the implications of all the underlining themes with your friends after you've seen it. The movie took place in New York, and although there was quite a bit of stereotyping going on throughout the movie, it made you laugh because you know it's all true.

If you don't catch this while it is still in the movie theaters, I recommend that you watch it on the movie channel, or get the DVD when it comes out. Please consider all this and think on it. Providing useful articles, reviews and writings on movies and films online.

Long Way Around Review

I've been watching this TV series called Long Way Around, where Charlie Boorman and Ewan McGregor (a.k.a. Obi Wan Kenobi) ride their cross-country BMWs from London to New York- the long way around.

Charlie and Ewan set up an office in London several months before departing and hired a small staff to help plan their route, get the paperwork set up, consult with them on border crossings, and many more activities.

To train them before the ride, they hired a personal trainer. To prepare themselves for harsh border crossings they hired an ex-military safety guru to teach them basic evasion, combat training, weapons use and how to best deal with a hostage situation. To prepare for any unforeseen medical problems, a doctor was brought on board. To learn Russian prior to departure they hired a Russian area consultant, a visa advisor and a language coach and they have 2 support crew vehicles.

They rode from London to Ukraine passing through the Czech Republic, and stopping at the Church of Bones. Along the way they passed through various monuments and tours cleared for themselves along with the support and video crews. The two-van support team went ahead at most border crossings and at major sites to arrange visits, viewings and make for easy passage. A lot of what they saw would not have been possible without the support crews, and yet without Ewan on the team it wouldn't have been a TV series at all.

The show itself is inspiring and lively, and gets me eager to have this similar kind of adventure when I retire. It's hard to watch a show like this one that makes travel look so dangerous, difficult without a whole crew behind you and then realize that with a bit of real-world thinking and prior experience you could undertake the same trip as they did, and I'm sure people have.

In the foreseeable future, I won't plan to do something like the Ewan-Charlie team, as I think they have something special and love what they are doing. I just think it is sad that it takes a celebrity on a team to get publicity for it. A lot of great travelers are doing equally amazing trips and because they aren't A-listed stars they don't get sponsorship, recognition or free gear, and the trips don't get publicized so that most people think travel is this dangerous and relatively pointless activity. Television Influence on Small Children

The Greek and Latin languages are where the word 'television' has its origin. The word is a derivative from 'tele', which is a Greek word translates, to 'far sight' and 'visio' is a Latin word that means 'sight.' In the latter part of the 1930s, the television made its way to the commercial markets. These days, television is the single most popular type of audio-visual in commercial set-ups and home. Merely mentioning the word 'television' calls to mind a medium which assists individuals in keeping abreast with entertainment issues and current affairs. No longer is the television set a single communication unit. The television has evolved in the complexity of the design to transmit recorded material that is stored on Blu-ray discs, laser discs, DVDs and video cassettes.

Television History

The television history spans over time zones and regions, in view of the fact that the technology has evolved in different places and at different times. This communication system, as it is known these days, is not the brainchild of any one specific inventor. The process has taken the endeavours of a number of engineers, over several decades, to develop along various overlapping designs, to utilize commonly accepted electronic and mechanical principles. Despite the fact that electromechanical television sets have been abandoned for the completely electronic, ultra-modern designs, the fundamental design rests on the discovery of selenium photo-conductivity in 1873. That discovery which was made by Willoughby Smith brought about the scanning disk invention from Paul Gottlieb Nipkow in 1884. In 1926, a demonstration of televised moving images was carried out by John Logie Baird, that technology was joined with the image dissector that was designed in 1927 by Philo Farnsworth, to provide viewers with the fundamental principles of the television that we currently know.

These days, the world of television is discovered by children at an incredibly tender age. A number of studies have indicated that kids who are younger than 6 years old watch television, DVD or video on a daily basis, at an average of 2 hours. In a number of instances, watching television can be useful, particularly the wildlife and educational programs that have the capacity to broaden the understanding and knowledge of your child in relation to the world around him or her. In addition, it can introduce them to a variety of communities and cultures of the world. However, at the moment the negative effects are seemingly outweighing the uplifting ones.

The Negative Influences of Television on Children

The formative years in the life of child, particularly the first two to three years, are vital to the mental growth and development of the child. Those are the years in which a child learns by way of interacting, observing, playing and discovering new things. As a result, these first few years are extremely vital for the physical and mental development. Therefore, a pattern of watching television excessively could hinder his or her social activities such as spending quality time with members of the family, reading and playing with friends.

There are a number of television programs that portray extreme violence and this could induce lots of changes in behaviour in young children. In view of the fact that kids can relate easily to what is being shown on the television screen, they will be more prone to imitating the behaviour that is depicted. As a result, you may notice aggressive behaviour in your child. In addition, it could cause the little one to develop sleeping disorders and have nightmares because his or her sense of anxiety and fear has been stimulated by what is shown on the television. In addition to this, it will possibly result in creating confusion in the mind of the young child as it relates to knowing the difference between good and bad. That is because parents most likely teach their kids that aggression and violence is bad but the program on the television will possibly show the heroes or 'good guys' perpetrating violence.

Apart from the violence, drinking and smoking scenes are depicted widely in commercials and television programs, without giving an explanation of the unfavourable consequences. The repeated and continuous exposure to these programs will make children feel as though these activities are quite acceptable and normal. As a result, kids who watch these programs on a regular basis are a great deal more likely to mimic and develop these unhealthy habits from an early stage in their development.

In the developed world, obesity is a widespread problem and television is among the important factors that are responsible for the increasing incidences of obesity among kids. Excessive watching of television decreases physical activities of the kids and simultaneously amplifies the popularity of unhealthy foods, such as potato chips, soft drinks and other snacks that they see on the commercials. Prometheus Review, Symbols and Themes

Prometheus, directed and produced by Ridley Scott, had quite a bit of hype, especially from me. It was great, and had a few plot holes in the second half that didn't quite ruin it, but were unpleasant. Many viewers will not "get it" if they have not seen and remember the original Alien movie. It's not just another shoot-em-up sci-fi movie, it's a pretty big deal for fans of the series. If you plan on seeing Prometheus and don't remember the 1979 Alien film or haven't seen it, I think it's essential that you watch Alien first.

The characters were good. Not phenomenal, but good. And the acting was excellent, for the most part. I felt sorry for the archaeologist, Elizabeth Shaw, and I just wanted to give her a hug the whole second half of the movie. The android, David, was also a memorable character. Elements of Blade Runner were present in this character, specifically the idea of the "tears in the rain" monologue. In fact, the actor for the android avoided watching the original Alien movies, and instead got the inspiration for his character from Blade Runner.

The two screen writers, John Spaihts and Damon Lindelof (co-creator of Lost), did a decent job. Spaihts is somewhat new to the writing scene, but has experience writing sci-fi. He wrote the original script, but then Lindelof rewrote it, probably fixing some things while creating more plot holes. I think it was the script that took away the most from the film. I don't know which writer is more responsible. But I'd be willing to go out on a limb and say Lindelof, considering he's been writing about being stranded on a tropical island for years, and then suddenly jumps into the sci-fi genre. Seriously, someone who once wrote for a MTV show called Undressed--clearly a sign of writing just for money--has no business messing with the Alien universe. I just had to let that out.

The cinematography was amazing. Just as expected from a Ridley Scott movie. The intro shots were especially good, and the imagery provided in the opening scene let me know that Scott had not forgotten that important part of Alien. Most of Scott's movies are deep and full of thematic elements. He did not disappoint with this one.

SPOILERS BELOW

The movie opens with a humanoid, pale alien standing on top of a waterfall on Earth, probably tens of thousands of years ago. He drinks a black liquid (which seems to be alive) and we witness rapid changes in his DNA, as the strands are twisted apart. His skin starts to deteriorate and he falls into the waterfall, with his limbs falling apart. He dies and supposedly plants his DNA in Earth, so it can have life. I think the purpose of this scene is to show that the humanoid aliens are responsible for life on Earth.

The first half of the movie is the best. I appreciate buildup. The two main scientists are trying to discover these "Engineers" on an alien planet, indicated by star maps found across Earth. The Engineers are assumed to be the creators of human life; the humanoid at the beginning scene was an Engineer. I find it funny that Meredith, the Weyland Corporation employee, is so controlling of their expedition. It's allegorical to PhD researchers who have to deal with being controlled all the time.

Throughout the first half especially, it was surprisingly philosophical and spiritual. I know that Ridley Scott wanted to take it this way; he believes that most science fiction films don't cover these topics, when they should. During their transit to the alien planet, which takes two years in cryosleep, David (the android) observes Shaw's (the female archaeologist) dreams. In the dream she is a little girl with her dad on what seems to be a digging expedition. A cross necklace appears over the image in the dream a few times; this symbol becomes important later on. She and her dad discuss what happens after death, and her dad says it's something like paradise. She asks why he says so, and he replies "because that's what I choose to believe."

David, being an android who is troubled by his existence, is the main cause of all the trouble that ensues. At one point he asks Charlie Holloway (Shaw's love interest) why they created him. Holloway replies "because we could." David goes on to ask if Holloway would be satisfied if he asked his creator that question, and got the same answer. There are many points like this in the movie, which help propagate the existential dilemma that exists in the human mind. The whole philosophical part of the movie is based around the "greatest question," regarding who/what created us and why, who created the creator and why, and so on. I think the important conclusion in the movie to this question, is that there is no answer, and never will be. It's about living with existence and enjoying it best you can.

It's not exactly known why David infects Holloway with the black fluid. It's either due to his immense curiosity or receiving orders from Peter Weyland, who is secretly hiding on the ship. After Holloway is infected by taking the drink offered to him by David, he visits Shaw in her room. She's found that the Engineer's DNA is a match to human DNA. Holloway says they've found their creators, and tells her she can take her father's cross off now. She refuses to, saying that they don't know who created their creators.

We learn that Shaw is unable to bear children, and she's quite upset about it. The two proceed to sleep together that night. And it's easy to see it coming that whatever was in Holloway's system would be in her system now. On their next expedition outside, Holloway becomes too sick and ends up volunteering to be immolated, to avoid spreading the infection. The event was traumatic for Shaw, but Holloway's death didn't have much of an impact on the plot.

After Holloway's death, David is checking Shaw for infections in the medical bay. David insists that she takes off her cross necklace for the body scan. She complies and David takes the cross. She learns that she is three months pregnant. It's also revealed that it is "not a traditional fetus." Almost immediately after learning this, she says "I want it out" and screams "get it out of me."Â Just ten hours ago, she was desperate to have a child, and now she wants an abortion. She doesn't know whether or not it's dangerous, but she assumes it is. David reflects on the circumstances and says "it must feel like your God abandoned you." The symbolism here is obvious.

The next scene is one of the most disturbing I've seen in a movie, not just because of the graphic aspect, but the emotion as well. Shaw escapes from the medical bay and finds the emergency surgery pod, in hopes to remove the developing fetus. She finds out that the pod is meant for male patients only, after requesting a caesarean section. I find it odd that it would be calibrated for male patients only. There's a symbolic importance in this, I haven't quite figured it out yet. She proceeds to have a "foreign body" removal surgery instead, and injects herself with painkillers and enters the pod. The painkillers are not enough for anesthesia, and the process is painful. Her lower stomach is slit open and a mechanical arm reaches in and pulls out the alien fetus, which begins squirming violently, trying to get back inside her stomach.

She's now trapped inside the surgery pod with the partially developed alien baby being held above her, as her stomach is stitched back up. She manages to get out of the pod and contain the alien inside. Since it was moving around in her stomach, it was probably gestated enough to survive on its own outside. I think Ridley Scott was referring to this scene and a few others when he was asked about the rating and said "the question is, do you go for the PG-13, or do you go for what it should be, which is R? Financially it makes quite a difference... essentially it's kinda R... it's not just about blood, it's about ideas that are very stressful."

What happened next really threw me off. She re-enters the medical bay and it is revealed that Peter Weyland, the founder of the Weyland company, is alive and aboard the ship. The main reason this threw me off is because the mood set from the last scene was completely lost and forgotten. There is no mention ever made by anyone of the alien fetus that was inside Shaw. But her pain is still clearly presented.

So Peter Weyland is much too old to be alive (obviously being kept alive by technology--transhumanism) and wishes to ask the Engineers to extend his life. His character is someone who has not accepted death, and is desperately clinging to life. In order for him to walk into the buried ship with the Engineers, he must have mechanical assistance from a suit he wears. He doesn't even get to ask his question to the awakened Engineer before being pummeled to death by it. I guess he got his answer.

The Engineer that was awakened doesn't appear that intelligent, even though they are presented as super-intelligent beings. He refuses trying to communicate with the humans and just resorts to killing them. He then readies the ship in order to go to Earth and spread the black liquid among the population, which appears to be a biological weapon at this point, which mutates humans into overpowered monsters. This is the part of the plot that's annoying, it feels like it was just kind of thrown in there.

The captain back on the human ship decides to sacrifice himself to bring down the ship by suicide bombing it, to prevent Earth from being destroyed. The two other crew members on the bridge agree to sacrifice themselves as well. They had previously made a bet, and one agrees to pay up "on the other side." The cinematography at work here is clearly stating the importance of their belief in the afterlife. They raise their hands, as if riding a roller coaster, before they collide with the alien ship. It's noticeable that the daughter of Peter Weyland is also desperately clinging to life. We see her struggling to make it to an escape pod and put on a space suit in time. She makes it out, but is still crushed by the crashing alien ship, revealing that her struggle was meaningless.

Shaw manages to survive the crash and makes it back to the surgery pod room where the alien that she carried is contained. It has grown to be huge and resembles an octopus (which was actually Dan O'Bannon's original idea of the facehugger). David, who has been decapitated but is still functioning, radios her and warns her of the Engineer who is approaching the ship. I'm not sure why the Engineer found it necessary to try and kill her. Maybe he was just angry after his ship crashed, or trying to eliminate all the humans that were left. When the Engineer enters, she opens the containment area and the octopus alien is released. I'm going to call it the Master Facehugger, since it's basically a very large facehugger and starts the whole process of the queen alien, except it resembles a sea monster more than a crab or a spider. So the Master Facehugger grabs hold of the Engineer while Shaw escapes, and latches onto him to begin the process of alien gestation.

After Shaw finds David, she asks him where her cross necklace is. It seems that after finding David and putting the necklace on, she has regained her strength to keep going. Just before this, she was lying on the ground, telling David "I can't do this anymore." After that, she puts David's head in a duffel bag and gets out of the ship (this generated many laughs in the theatre). Most of the ending dialogue between Shaw and David was weak and not well thought out.

Death acceptance and death denial are huge thematic elements. During the dream early in the film, Shaw as a little girl saw a man being carried in a funeral and asked her dad why he died. Her dad says, "sooner or later, everyone dies." It sometimes seems, that part of the crew is clinging to their current life, and the other part may be clinging to the afterlife. It proposes the question--what does it mean to accept death? It's symbolic to the never-ending struggle to find peace with existence.

The theme regarding motherhood and abortion is also important. A friend of mine pointed out an interesting fact in the Aliens film. When Ripley finds the queen alien, it's kind of a horrifying scene, and she has all of her eggs around her and is violent, in a less-than-happy situation. That particular movie was released during a time when feminism was starting to become successful. The Alien franchise has always carried a subliminal message.

For those who don't believe Alien movies have an underlying message, read what the screenwriter for the 1979 movie, Dan O'Bannon, said: "One thing that people are all disturbed about is sex... I said 'That's how I'm going to attack the audience; I'm going to attack them sexually. And I'm not going to go after the women in the audience, I'm going to attack the men. I am going to put in every image I can think of to make the men in the audience cross their legs. Homosexual oral rape, birth. The thing lays its eggs down your throat, the whole number.'"

So, in reality, there's much more going on in movies than most people are aware of. Only certain people will see it, and some will interpret it differently. That's alright, that's what art is meant for.

Another thing worth mentioning are the snake-like monsters they found. Before those appeared, an earthworm was shown in the soil around the area. So after the black liquid was released, the earthworm must have been infected and morphed into the monster.

Also, the ending sequence of the Xenomorph (black colored alien) leaves more questions. It would seem that it is the queen alien, and it proceeds to lay eggs in the crashed ship, which they find in the original movie. If it's not the queen alien, then there's still the possibility of using the other live Engineers that are sleeping for gestation. Either way, it makes enough sense to proceed to the original movie. Although, the Space Jockey scene is not exactly explained. Note: these were my original thoughts on the Xenomorph at the end, right after viewing. It's been confirmed that they are actually on a different planetoid.

There has been some speculation that the pale-skinned humanoid aliens are not the Engineers. I'd consider this a definite possibility, which opens up another great batch of questions. Looks like we'll have to wait for a sequel to Prometheus to know for sure.

Overall, it's a very thought provoking and stunning film. The visual effects and sound were incredible, and the use of CGI didn't take anything away from the movie. In the end, however, the original 1979 Alien will always be the most memorable one.

Home Vs Commercial Use Inflatable Movie Screens, Difference In Quality

Since the invention of the first inflatable movie screen by AIRSCREEN of Germany in 1994, many different styles of blowup movie screens have come on the market. While all of the same purpose which is to be a portable means for showing movies outdoors, there are some notable differences in a home use and commercial use outdoor screen system.

HOME USE INFLATABLE MOVIE SCREENS
Home use inflatable screens are usually small in size and are meant for a group showing of 10-15 people which is ideal for a backyard movie night. The quality of materials used on a home use screen is similar to that of a blow up snowman decorations sold in big box stores. To keep the cost down for the personal use market, the manufactures use light-weight thin materials. Light-weight materials also allow for the projection screen to easy to manage and store in small places. Equipped with thin tether ropes, small push stakes, and a fan, the blow screen system is easy to install in minutes in a grassy area of a home yard.

Since the home use portable projection screens have small fans (not blowers) with lightweight materials, the screen frame is not able to stay firm which will case the white projection surface to wrinkle which will affect the picture quality. Starting at a price point of $199, home use inflatable movie screens are affordable for the do-it-your homeowner who desires to host a backyard movie themselves.

COMMERCIAL USE
Consumers looking to buy a screen for home use may find that some manufactures are offering larger sized "commercial screens." Don't be fooled by these larger screens that the manufactures are trying to advertise as commercial. These screens are a lot lower quality than normal commercial screens made of cheaper, thinner materials that may start to have leaks after a short period of time. Typically manufactures selling these screen also sell products such as holiday decorations, and don't have the experience creating a stable, quality commercial movie screen.

One way to tell a true commercial screen is to look for a screen that is made of a heavier weight material such as reinforced PVC. The stronger material with welded or double stitched seams will result in a stronger frame which will be aesthetically wrinkle free as well as be able to withstand wind because of its more solid, stiffer structure. The thicker material and stronger seams also increase the longevity of use of the screen where as after a few uses with a home quality screen you will start to notice leaks which will progressively get worse with every use.

Another area that a commercial screen focuses on is safety. The larger the screen surface, the more impact wind can have on the screen. Similar to a giant sail on a boat, the screen will want to take flight with a strong enough gust of wind. To keep the screen from flying away and potentially injuring the crowd, you will find a minimum of six tether straps with 24? or longer tent stakes on a high quality commercial screen system.

Third a true commercial grade inflatable outdoor movie screen should have a theatrical grade or highly reflective screen surface similar to an indoor movie theater screen. A theatrical grade screen when paired with the correct projection system will produce a vibrant, crisp and colorful picture.

There are many clear, noticeable differences between the quality of a home screen system versus a high quality commercial grade screen system. Although home screens can be alright for using once or twice in a backyard, a commercial screen system will offer an outdoor cinema experience that just can't be matched by a home screen system. From a elegant, highly reflective screen surface, to a safety system that can withhold moderate to strong winds, hiring a professional outdoor movie company will be the correct decision for an unforgettable outdoor movie experience. Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Locations

When the show hit our screens in the early 1980's, it was the time before the internet, so finding out information like where the show was filmed was not easy. In modern times, you simply have to type in what you are looking for, and within seconds you have your answer.

Filming for the first 2 series of the show was mostly done in the UK, with London, Newcastle and Nottingham being used for outdoor locations. In series 1, many locations around London doubled on screen for areas of Newcastle, with only keen eyed viewers in 1983 knowing the difference.

In 1986, the show returned to our screens for a second series, and locations such as Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Spain being used on screen. Nottinghamshire was used for almost all of the UK filming, with the exception of a few scenes being filmed in Newcastle. Wolverhampton on screen was actually Beeston, Nottinghamshire and even an indoor scene in a Spanish pub was actually filmed also on location in Beeston.

It does take a very keen eyed viewer to notice that it is not where it says it is on screen, but many die hard fans of the show, will know exact spots where the cast such as Jimmy Nail and Kevin Whately stood and said there lines.

In 2002, the show was revived by the BBC, and places such as Middlesbrough were used. Newcastle was used also this time, and the show spread it's wings wide and filming was also done on location in Page, Arizona, USA.

2004, saw the 4th and also last 2 episodes of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet being shown on UK screens. This time the location on screen was Cuba, but as they could not acquire a license to film their, the Dominican Republic was used instead. At the end of 2004 2 episodes were shown over the Christmas period, and this brought an end to almost 25 years of the show being on our screens. Thailand was used on screen for these 2 final episodes, featuring 5 of the original cast. Sadly in 1986, Gary Holton died whilst filming the second series of the show, and then in 2004 Pat Roach died of cancer, and did not appear in the final episodes.

If you are going to travel around the UK or even the world looking for Auf Wiedersehen, Pet locations, then please remember that many of these places are private property. I have always been welcomed to the places I have visited, and most love the fast that their property or land was used on such an iconic tv show. Sherlock Holmes Movie: A Game Of Shadows Review

It is silly to hope of an authentic Sherlock Holmes movie at this epoch. Regardless of the time the story set in 1895 in Victorian London, the movie must be stuffed with all modern movie techniques such as explosions, gunfire, image effects and fights that are totally different from the fistfightof that period.

In "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," many scences screening Victorian London, Paris and Switzerland, but it runs fast. The movie all but hurtles through episodes that would be relaxedly set pieces in old Holmes story. This is as a modern action picture played in costume. There're no time to rethink the approach, after the great sucess of Sherlock Holmes (2009). However, this time, there're more refinement and creativeness.

"Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" begins with a situation that may change Holmes's world: Dr. Watson is getting married. His engagement to Mary Watson (Kelly Reilly) was in the first sequel, and now a date has been set. Holmes (Downey), who regards himself as the best company that the doctor could find, feel a little sorrow about this, but still joins the happy couple on their honeymoon train journey. And in that unlucky journey, he must thow Mary off the train to save her life.

The movie revolves around the rivalry between Holmes and Professor James Moriarty (Jared Harris) – an Oxford don, who is the brain of a secret anarchist plan to use bombings and assassinations to drive Europe into war. As Moriarty owns an huge secret munitions mill producing all kinds of weapons from machine guns to gigantic cannons, he would make a lot of money from that. And Holmes is the only hope to save the world from war, which would endangere lives and existences of European citizens.

If the war happened, it would be out of reach of the eccentric investigator of 221B Baker Street and Watson. It's then the case for James Bond, and Moriarty's grandiosity seems on a scale with a Bond villain. However, Guy Ritchie and his writers Michele and Kieran Mulroney wisely spend some of their best scenes to man-to-man between Holmes and Moriarty.

Their battle progresses to a head in a graceful, high-stakes chess game, carried on in Switzerland in the dead of a winter night on a snowy outdoor balcony. In this movie, Moriarty doesn't gnash or rail, but contends with Holmes in biting language. This turn the movie to Conan Doyle's initiate images about Holmes with his mind working perfectly.

Unlike other Sherlock Holmes movies, in "A Game of Shadows", Dr. Watson has a more proactive role. The movie opens with him recalling the whole adventures on a typewriter that is too modern for 1895 but maybe suggests he's writing years later. There are many scences in which we see Dr Watson uses fists and guns. Luckily his wife didn't see most of the action as she was thrown out by Holmes.

In the center of European diplomacy, Mycroft (Stephen Fry)- Holmes' brother is a funny role, especially when he is nude and shields his netherlands by using arranged foregrounds in the "Austin Powers" tradition. In this movie, we also meet Irene Adler (Rachel McAdams), the mysterious character in much romantic speculation about Holmes, and a gipsy fortune teller, Madame Simza Heron, played by Noomi Rapace.

Robert Downey with his calm and flexibility, drives his character out from the danger, thinks thoroughly before performs it without worry. He appears in many disguises, one with a markedly bad wig, another as a remarkably convincing chair. This is not a traditional Sherlock Holmes with what we remember of the Conan Doyle stories, it is a enjoyable high-caliber entertaining movie. So just put aside your memories of the Conan Doyle stories, and enjoy it.

Movie Review: Underworld Awakening

In this movie review about "Underworld Awakening" it will be disclosed that this film brings a spectacular new aspect to the heroic battle between Lycans and Vampires and is the first film in its franchise that is in 3D.

In this thriller, Selene (Kate Beckinsale), a female vampire stealth warrior who was the star of the two former films, escapes from prison into a world in which humans found out that Lycan clans (werewolves) and Vampires exist and are carrying out a war to get rid of the two immortal species.

Pretty soon there will be no unique pose of Kate Beckinsale for any 'Underworld' poster as she will use them all up. She puts on her black tight leather pants with a gun in both hands and simply glares at the lens and thousands of tickets are sold.

For this movie review, in the fourth Underworld Awakening thriller film which is co-directed by Bjorn Stein and Mans Marlind, the stealth warrior now have to defend the fight of humans who are hell bent on getting rid of monster races from off the planet. Scott Speedman, the original co-star is rumoured to be coming back as Michael Corvin. In a sequel that is expected to be in theatres on January 20, 2012 Corvin will join Michael Ealy, India Eisley and Stephen Rea.
This movie review will let you in on a secret that audiences may be able to enjoy a double feature of Beckinsale as she will also be starring in Contraband, the action thriller, playing the wife of Mark Wahlberg. This will be in theatres on January 13, 2012.

However, Beckinsale's commitment to the 'Underworld' series should be admired. Since 2003, she has role-played in three of four of the film series. And although Len Wiseman (now a producer) has given up the job as director, she maintains the ability to spice up the series. In addition, she also shows in other pictures of Wiseman and will also appear his remake movie of 'Total Recall' next summer playing a substantial role.

The Underworld series could easily have been transferred or changed to a direct DVD series. Underworld Awakening will be offered in IMAX 3D so it is growing and we certainly hope it matures.

Old fans will be satisfied and new audiences excited. That is, without redoing the first three films, steps are taken to give old fans what they love while introducing fresh elements for new audiences.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu

Karan Johar is very choosy in filming movies and just because of this reason his movies come up with a wide variety. The diverse topics and the proper highlights of every single emotion are the main assets of his movies. The main focus is always on the young generation for which the movies easily grab public's attention. In the same way, Karan Johar joined hand with Hiroo Yash Johar to launch his new Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu movie. This movie is directed and scribbled by Shakun Batra for whom it is a debut movie. Imraan Khan and Kareena Kapoor are paired together for it and this is the first film of them together.

This movie is under the banner of Dharma Production. Actors like Ram Kapoor, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah will be doing other important characters of this movie. The film was initially planned to get released on October 7, 2011. But later, the date got postponed to February 10, 2012.

The storyline revolves around two young bachelors. One is an almost perfect guy and other one is an approximately messy lady. Rahul Kapoor aka Imraan is a 26 years old man who has proved to be the best child on earth to his parents. He is an architect in Vegas by profession and aspires more in life. But life is not a bed of roses. So misfortune starts taking place in his perfect life. Recession affects his job too and he gets unemployed. As he has a sole desire is not to hurt parents by any means, therefore he seeks another work to cover up the bitter truth. Soon he meets Raina Braganza, who is a hairstylist and a beauty with brain at the same time.

Eventually they get in touch on the holy Christmas Eve over a few drinks as well as mistakenly marry on the same day. Of course, Rahul now has to keep this unexpected blunder away from his parents. They both decide to solve the matter as soon as possible and fetch an appointment from the court within ten days. All these ten days they share their tiny yet important emotions together. In due course they find themselves incomplete without each other and an unlikely friendship starts blooming in between them. The Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Reviews are expected to go well as both the lead actors are good performers in the industry.

The pattern of the movie truly matches today's youth and the fickle mind of this generation X. So the Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu rating is ought to be above average as the script seems to be amusing and enjoyable. The movie is a nice combo of comedy and affection. Randhir Kapoor will be seen in the shoes of a similarly important role in the movie.

How Daniel Craig Was Received As 007

The announcement that Daniel Craig was  to be the new face of 007 in November 2005 came with quite a lot of controversy, with many hard core fans who had been brought up on the Pierce Brosnan films hostile to the new actor and angry that "their" James Bond had been given the boot by producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson.

One group of fans was quick to air their displeasure by setting up a protest website, declaring that "Craig was not Bond". The media caught onto this and reported that Bond fans were unhappy; they also attacked Craig for having worn a lifejacket while about the Royal Marine's high-speed powerboat that was used to transport him to the press conference.

Once filming got underway in 2006 a string of negative stories were published by the British tabloids;  Craig was not tough enough to play James Bond and had had his teeth knocked out while preparing for an action scene; and that he couldn't drive a car with a manual gearbox were just two of the stories.

However, once the Casino Royale trailers hit the Internet the reception by the majority of Bond fans was overwhelmingly positive and the negative stories became replaced by more positive ones. While fans of James Bond are used to having high hopes which are often dashed by disappointing films, the buzz around Casino Royale only got better.

Film critics who attended private screenings ahead of the premiere were astounded at the film that had been produced and both Casino Royale and Daniel Craig's portrayal of Bond were widely praised across the board. What had started off as a potentially risky casting decision, and which at times had looked like it might have backfired paid off. Casino Royale was the first Bond film in many years that proved to not only be a commercial success but a critical one too.

The movie-going public were taken by the much more realistic and physical version of James Bond that showed much more violence and minimised the reliance on those fabulous gadgets that always seemed to get him out of trouble just when required.

The Dirty Picture Movie: when Dreams Become Nightmares

The latest movie, Dirty Picture is the tale of the existence of South Indian Actress Silk. Vidya Balan played this lead role with a skilful and matured acting. The movie is not only the dark side of Silk's living days but also a reflection of the cruel cinema industry. Although Vidya Balan was the life of this movie but the supportively main characters are played by actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi and Tushar Kapoor. Milan Luthria directed the movie with a similar dexterous ability.

As per the Dirty Picture Movie Review, the movie opens it curtain with the struggling small town girl Reshma (Vidya Balan) who aspires to get the stardom of movie industry.

Unfortunately time and again she fails to get any chance in a movie. This constant rejection makes her depressed and after receiving an offensive proposal from a lay man she makes her mind up to break her protective shell of ethnicity. With her sensuous expressions she gets into a film song shot. But the director of that movie was an art film maker named Abraham (Emraan Hashmi) who believes in a policy of perfect shots without cheap creativity with any sensation. So eventually the song gets deleted from the movie. This incident tears apart Reshma's all desires to be an actress in such a way that she remains inside her house for days.

Eventually that edited shot gets revealed to the producer silvaganesh and he again releases the movie including that song scene. Thus Reshma comes into the frame and producers and then superstar Suryakanth (Naseeruddin Shah) soon transform her into a new avatar named ‘Silk'. She starts leading the industry as a sex symbol. But segment of the society like an eminent Journalist, Laila along with hysterical women group are protest against her such representations on screen. Being ditched by Suryakanth, Silk starts attracting his brother, Ramakanth (Tushar Kapoor) to take revenge.

Slowly but surely, rumour of Silk's affairs starts spreading all around. Laila's news pieces blame Silk for using both of the brothers to accomplish an established position for a longer period. As a result Suryakant starts rejecting Silk for the prominent production houses which forces her to work with all the small production teams. Soon Silk becomes a shine less star. After meeting her then competitor Shakeela in a party, she behaves like a crazy image less actress. This sudden occurrence compels Ramakanth to break up with her.

Bit by bit depression gets a strong possession on her mind and leaves her obsessed with smoking and alcohol. Due to the shortage of money she approaches even a small period film director who misleads her to shoot a porn movie. An unexpected Police her makes her possibly escaped from such awkward situation. In the fullness of time, Abraham falls in love for her. He cherishes to make her happy in all terms. That is why he brings her separated mother back and arranges a surprise meeting for Silk. But the fate was already written in a tragic manner for Silk. Immense hopelessness towards life has already killed her. She steps a level ahead and suicides to give a stop to her pain. The entire story of Silk has the narrating background of Abraham.

Being a South Indian tale, the movie had major shooting in South India for an extended level. The Dirty Picture movie has been in cinema halls on December 2, 2011. It has a grand opening of the year. The Dirty Picture rating is also average and somewhere it is above average. The movie is rated 3 out of 5 stars.

Netflix On PlayStation 3

Finally, Sony has decided to align the PlayStation 3 with Netflix by removing the requirement of a disc. And to add to it, the new interface has been enhanced to make it user friendly. Being an owner of PS3, I decided to get this Netflix application. On researching about it a bit more, I came to know about few of its impressive features. I am sharing my research with you all to give you a detailed idea about what Netflix actually is, and what are the benefits of installing Netflix app on your PS3?

What is Netflix?

Netflix is a provider of on demand internet streaming media in the United States of America, Canada and the Caribbean. It started its subscription based digital distribution service in 1999, and by 2009 it was contributing a collection of about 100,000 titles on DVD and had outdone 10 million subscribers.

Netflix Videos on PlayStation

Netflix is a niche player of Internet video streaming that caters to users on variety of platforms like Windows, Mac OS X as well as several other compatible devices. As with most of the devices, just press the ‘Play Instantly' button and enjoy your favorite movie on your PlayStation 3. Replay, and pause as you normally would on any disc player. Earlier, PS3 users had to use a Netflix supplied disc for streaming. Now movie buffs can just log on to the PlayStation Network and opt for the free Netflix app. Once the program downloads, go to the video section, accept the new terms and conditions and launch. Also, Internet streaming includes no extra costs apart from the Netflix's regular subscription service. Now only a part of Netflix's content is available with the option ‘Watch Instantly'.

Initially, Netflix on PlayStation came with a restriction that allowed the users to view one hour of media for around each dollar spent on their subscription. But in Jan 2008, Netflix lifted this restriction. The users were now allowed to watch titles for unlimited hours of streaming media at no extra costs. The new terms of service were introduced after the launch of Apple's new video rental service.

Video Game Consoles

At E3 event in 2008, Microsoft announced a contract to let the users watch Netflix videos over Xbox Live. This service was initiated on November 19, 2008 for the Xbox 360 owners with Netflix Unlimited subscription. The Xbox Live Gold subscription enabled them to stream movies and TV shows directly from their Netflix Instant Queue from an application on the Dashboard.

Later in October 2009, Sony declared the availability of Netflix on PlayStation 3 console. The set-up was similar to that on the Xbox 360, and allowed Netflix subscribers to stream and view movies and TV shows from their Instant Queue. On October 19, 2010, PlayStation launched a downloadable application for the users which allowed them to view movies by simply paying the monthly Netflix subscription for no additional service charges.

Set-top Boxes

In May 2008, the first set-top box was released to stream Netflix movies. The device, manufactured by Roku, offered infinite access to the Netflix catalog for all subscribers starting at $7.99/month.

How Much Bandwidth does Netflix Streaming Use?

Let's have a quick look at the breakdown of the bandwidth required by Netflix for streaming:

Movies

The HD movies need around 3.8Mbit for efficient streamingThe bandwidth required for SD movies totally depends on the length of the movie. A SD movie usually varies between 500-700MB.

TV Shows

A 30 minutes TV show in HD should be of approximately 1500MBA 30 minutes SD TV show is of about 400MB

Advantages with Netflix

Offers thousands of instantly streaming videos and shows at very affordable cost. You don't even have to go to the store, and can find and watch your favorite movie right away by just installing the Netflix app on your PS3.Allows you to watch movies after every couple of days. The option of one to three movies at a time allows the user to choose an option of either watching a movie right away or keeping it for watching it later. No late fees

Drawbacks of Netflix

Netflix no doubt offers a whole big list of movies and TV shows to choose from, but the major drawback which I came across is that the movies do not change frequently. The user is thus left searching for the movie from the same list for a continuous time period. The streaming of movies may take time, though that totally depends on your internet connectionThere might be issues logging on to the PlayStation Network. There is a workaround being discussed in the forums in case PSN is actually down.In you are ordering a delivery for rental, you can't check for scratches. So I'd prefer streaming over shipped discs, any day.

Netflix with PlayStation!

The most prominent benefit of Netflix is that you do not need to go out to a rental store to get a movie of your choice, and can simply watch it anytime via Netflix. Few features of Netflix that are worth-noticing and have created a lot of buzz among the PS3 users Netflix are as follows.

From November 2011, live streaming of movies and TV serials on PS3 has become a reality without any riders like discs. You have a choice to select from a huge list of about 100,000 blockbuster moviesThe trial service offered by Netflix is simply awesome. It allows you try their service free for 2 weeks; and just in case you do not like it, you can withdraw your account anytime before the 2 week trial ends. You get connected with your friends and can receive recommendations regarding any movieYou never ever will have to pay a late fee with Netflix.

Bottom-line, the Netflix experience on the PS3 has improved considerably. There may be few glitches in linking with Netflix.com from your console. However, soon enough Netflix is likely to be as robust on PlayStation 3 as it is on the internet.
