Roger Ebert was, without a doubt, one of the premiere film critics-some would say political pundits-of his generation. He left behind legions of fans who appreciated being amused by his wit, along with a legacy that pointed the way to an altogether higher calling for celebrities. It was his willingness to combine an encyclopedic knowledge of film and its conventions with a stout conscience and an unflinching affection for the truth as he understood it that earned him the respect of just about everyone, even some of those to whom he was less than kind. ...
